President John Dramani Mahama has urged Muslims to pray for peace and prosperity for Ghana as they begin this year’s Ramadan Month – the month in which the Holy Quran was first sent down to the Prophet Mohammad (Sallallahu Alayhi Wa’Sallam).

“The nation expects our Muslim brothers and sisters during this period of fasting to totally submit to Allah and remember our beloved country in their prayers,” President Mahama noted.

The President, in wishing Muslims a blessed Ramadan Kareem, urged them to use the holy month to purify their hearts and detoxify their bodies with the view to drawing closer to the Almighty Allah.

President Mahama also encouraged Ghanaians to lend support to “our Muslim colleagues to enable them fulfill the requirements of the month of Ramadan.”
