Prez Akufo-Addo commended for firing former BOST boss

[L-R] Duncan Amoah of COPEC consistently cited Mr. Alfred Boateng in a series of serious scandals and consequently petitioned the Special Prosecutor to have him investigated for corruption.[/caption]President  Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has received an applause from the Chamber of  Petroleum Consumers – Ghana (COPEC) for terminating the appointment of the now former Managing Director of  the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST), Alfred Obeng Boateng. COPEC has in the last one year consistently cited Mr. Obeng in a series of serious scandals including corruption and bad management decisions. For COPEC, the sacking of Mr. Obeng is a “a new lease of life” for BOST. A letter dated June 6 signed by Secretary to President, Nana Asante Bediatuo relieved Mr. Obeng of his post  and appointed George Mensah Okley in his stead. COPEC is hopeful the new leadership of BOST will restored a renewed confidence in the company, which COPEC claims had lost investor confidence under the leadership of Mr. Obeng. “It is our firm belief that the president’s master stroke to give BOST a new MD will not only boost public confidence but also boost the confidence of the business community in the company to ensure the Global Major Oil  Traders all of whom had withdrawn from carrying out any business with the company, will now find a good reason to renew business operations with BOST”.
