At about 12:30pm on Wednesday, August 25, the spectacle of how the Adum footbridge was free of its usual business scenes by traders was very surprising.

In fact, until then the footbridge has been a major trading pavillion for some traders at the peril of the facility’s structural integrity.

The situation before the report on GhanAkoma

The morning show team of Akoma FM‘s current affairs and political show GhanAkoma after monitoring the situation for a while took it up as project, went onto the footbridge and took some live videos and pictures on Tuesday, August 24, reported and discussed the issue on the following day on the show as host of the show Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin quizzed duty bearers about their inaction to crack the whip.

Two and half hours after the discussion, Akoma FM’s checks revealed that the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has cleared the footbridge and it’s serving its maximum purpose.

Questions people are begging answers to are the attitude of city authorities in enforcing the Assembly laws.

At least radio gets results! Akoma FM and, of course, all Media General platforms reported the incident and had results in just some 2 hours.

The GhanAkoma team shall monitor and report same and similar issues to yield results for sustainable development and peace within the communities.
