NDC worried few women picked forms in Greater Accra

The number of women who picked nominations forms for the parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Greater Accra Region was not encouraging, according to the regional secretariat. Only 20 out of the 118 prospective aspirants who picked forms to contest in various constituencies were women. The Greater Accra Regional Secretary, Theophilus Tetteh Chaie, who made the revelation on Onua FM’s Yen Sempa on Monday, explained that the situation has become a worry to the party. “Women participation is not encouraging,” he observed. “We had 118 aspirants and only 20 are women,” he stated.
