Free uniforms for pupils of Kanda Basic School

Pupils of Kanda Basic School, within the Kanda Cluster of Schools, have benefitted from free school uniforms from Inspire To Rise, a non-governmental organisation. The gesture is part efforts by the NGO to help the country meet the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. It is dubbed: ‘Confidence in School’. In all, 50 uniforms were shared to the kids. They were made up of 24 shorts and shirts for the boys and 26 pinafore for the girls. Founder of Inspire To Rise Wendy Laryea disclosed how she was touched to help after a previous visit to the school witnesses one pupil ridiculed and teased by friends because he wore wet uniforms. The Headmaster of Kanda Basic ‘3’ and ‘5’, Emmanuel Omari-Afari, was happy with the gesture. He said the school is faced with many challenges, all of which are affecting quality of education.
