Human Rights lawyer Francis-Xavier Sosu has been elected National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate for the Madina Constituency. Mr. Sosu won with 662 votes after results were collated and declared by the Electoral Commission at the close of polls in the NDC parliamentary primaries Saturday, August 24. This is the third time the Human Rights lawyer is contesting in the NDC primaries. He contested against three others in this year’s primaries; Alhaji Ibrahim Faila who pulled 219 votes, Hajia Rukaya Abubakar Alhassan with 16 votes and Sidii Abubakar Musah who pulled 480 votes. A total number of 1384 votes were cast, with 1377 valid votes counted and 7 rejected votes. Meanwhile, next door in the Adentan constituency, delegates rejected former Gender Minister, Nana Oye Lithur to elect Adamu Ramadan as the NDC candidate for the area.
