Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Koku Anyidoho has warned the party’s support base not to elect former President John Dramani Mahama and Johnson Asiedu Nketia as Presidential Candidate and National Chairman respectively.

According to him, the two lack “ethics” and “morality” to lead the party back to power.

In a flurry of tweets on Sunday, November 20, Mr Anyidoho, who served as Presidential Spokesperson in the government of the late President John Evans Atta Mills, lashed out at the two in their ambitions to lead the NDC.

He said the NDC can only elect his former boss, Mr Asiedu Nketia, as National Chairman at its own peril.

“I have said it several times: if the NDC wants to lose 2024, they should make the mistake and vote Asiedu-Nketiah as Chairman and Leader: nobody should blame me if we lose oooo!!!” one tweet warned.

He took on the former president, describing him as “selfish” and “wicked” and propagating his own cause withing the NDC.

The NDC will go to the polls on Saturday, December 17 to elect national executives for the next four years while a flagbearer will be elected in 2023 ahead of the crucial 2024 elections.
