Actor and politician, John Dumelo is optimistic of capturing power in the upcoming 2024 parliamentary elections.

Dumelo will once again compete with the current MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Lydia Seyram Alhassan on the ticket of the NDC after he lost the 2020 elections.

In a Question-and-Answer session on X, the actor when asked about how he intends to win this year’s elections said he will capitalize on her opponent’s weakness to secure victory in the elections.

“I don’t get nervous. I’ve learnt from my mistakes in 2020 and I’m using her weakness as my strength to win this election. Her weakness is she has more resources than I have,” Dumelo replied.

In another tweet questioning the businessman on why he wants to occupy the MP office, Dumelo said being in such a position will enable him “to be part of the decision-making processes that will affect our lives positively as Ghanaians.”

John Dumelo after losing in 2020 elections demanded a vote recount by the Electoral Commission.

Lydia Alhassan garnered 39,851 votes while Dumelo had 37,778 votes.

“Thank you God for an answered prayer. Thank you Ayawaso West Wuogon for this Victory. I take my scripture from Proverbs 21:31,” Lydia posted in a tweet after declaration of the results.
