Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP) and New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has indicated that Ghana is in crisis because leaders who have no vision have been chosen to be in charge.

Mr. Ohene Agyapong and his team are in the Western Region to kick off their ‘Showdown Walk’.

Speaking in an interview on Connect FM, the Assin Central told host Henry Eliud Yankey that the Western Region, for example, is rich in natural resources but lags in development.

He adds that it takes leaders with vision to tap into the potential of the Region for the benefit of the entire country and beyond.

“We are suffering in Ghana because leaders with no vision have been chosen to lead us.

“Western Region has a lot of coconut, Nigerians come here with a fleet of trucks to buy the coconut but we have not figured out why they have been buying it in bulk purchases.

“We do not have one factory for it in the region. Look at the factories Nkrumah left us, they have all been allowed to rot. Under my leadership, the stem of plantain and Banana will be used to manufacture pampers for ladies, we have the technology to do that,” he asserted.

Kennedy Agyapong adds that leaders in Ghana are only interested in amassing wealth and not what will benefit the entire populace.

“Elsewhere in the world, politicians make decisions to affect the entire population and not an individual. But in Africa, leaders make decisions to favor individuals.

“They are only interested in enriching themselves whilst the entire population suffers, and that is what I’m going to change. We shall give priority to promoting Ghanaian businesses,” he added.
