Police CID man assisted me to break jail – Takoradi serial 'kidnapper' reveals

The suspect at the Police station after his re-arrest Thursday[/caption] The Nigerian being held for the kidnapping of three girls in Takoradi, Samuel Wills, has alleged a personnel of the Police Criminals Investigations Department assisted him to break out of police cell late last year. He told a Magistrate Court in Takoradi Monday that that though he does not know the name of the said police personnel, he will be able to identify him when given the opportunity at an identification parade. “I don’t know the name of the police CID but I will be able to identify him when there is a parade” he told the court. According to him, his jailbreak was made possible with the help of the said police CID officer and one Kwesi. [caption id="attachment_111162" align="aligncenter" width="1080"] Samuel Wills leaving the court premises on January 9.[/caption] “It was Kwesi who was doing the cut while I apply oil on the iron rod,” he told the court, adding “Kwesi is my witness” . Wills thus pleaded with the court to be given time for him to produce the said kwesi. Presiding judge Michael Ampadu has therefore adjourned the case to Monday, February 18 for the said Kwesi to be produced. Meanwhile, some family members of the three kidnapped girls have expressed their disquiet that the suspect is being treated with kid’s gloves. Nana Adjoa, sister to Ruthlove Quayson, insisted the police are not doing what they are supposed to do. “We came to court and within five minutes everything is over, what is happening, she queried. She said “ I must be sincere, we are not too happy with the way the case is travelling and therefore we are given authorities two weeks for our sister to be produced or there will be a massive demonstration. “I think what is going on is not fair to all of us. We have been to court three times and nothing concrete has happen”, father of Priscilla Bentum, one of the kidnapped girls, said.
