This follows investigations, which could not find a prima facie case against him.
The petition was filed by Justice Isaac Bright Akwantey, one of the lower court judges sacked as a result of stated misbehaviour in the exposé by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
Justice Akwantey’s petition had accused Justice Adjei of collecting monies from judges of the lower benches for promotion and selection to pursue postgraduate programmes abroad.
The petition had also requested the removal of judge Bernard Bentil from the Chief Justice’s secretariat for corruption.
But in a statement signed by Judicial Secretary Justice Alexander Poku-Acheampong, Justice Akwantey’s petition is said to be “frivolous and unmeritorious as the petitioner has failed to substantiate the allegations made against His Honour Bernard Bentil”.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the Judicial Council on February 24, 2016 after deliberating on the report of the Disciplinary Committee which conducted investigations into the allegations contained in the petition.
