Oguaamanhen lauds Goil and STC partnership to give Cape Coast a modern bus terminal

Osabarimba kwesi Atta II, oguaamanhen has lauded two state entities Goil company limited and Intercity Stc limited for its collaboration to establish a modern bus terminal to begin operations in Cape coast.

The bus terminal which was handed over to Intercity Stc limited on Wednesday October 13, 2021 was constructed by Goil company limited a sate owned oil marketing company is being rented to Stc.
The project involved the construction and upgrading of the original station to befit the status of the location.
The facility estimated at 1.7 million cedis has an upgraded 2,000 meter square driveway, a modern washroom facility fitted with a 3,000 liter capacity water storage tank and about a 100 seating waiting area.
The edifice is equipped with a containerized offices which includes one for parcel delivery and a convenient forecourt area for bus parking.

At a short ceremony held at the premises of the terminal located at pedu junction, osabarimba commended Goil company limited and Intercity STC limited for the collaboration which he said was worthy to emulate.

” I highly delighted to witness this partnership between two state enterprises to venture this path to provide services to the public especially the people to fro Cape coast”
” it is refreshing to see stc look attractive again to give Cape coast a facelift”
He said.
He however under scored the need for mangers of the facility to ensure discipline was maintained while stressing on the need to provide quality and safe services to gain public confidence to patronize the facility.

Osabarimba kwesi Atta II also urged the managers of the facility to cultivate the habit of maintenance to keep the edifice clean.

He assured the oguaa traditional council’s blessings and support to ensure business at the station succeeds.

The group Chief executive officer and managing director of Goil, hon Kwame osei prempeh said the collaboration with Stc has a been long and sole standing reliable supplier of quality fuels to stc.
“Indeed Goil and stc have been close partners since the 1990’s and this ultramodern station project put up by Goil and rented to STC is part of a B2B collaboration between two national entities committed to giving the people the best of service”
He said

Hon osei prempeh expressed gratitude to the managing director for STC for his efforts to ensure the collaboration yielded a positive results and assured Goil will remain good partners of STC to resuscitate their fortunes.

He however urged managers to take good care of the facility.

On his part, nana Akomea, the managing director for Intercity STC expressed gratitude to Goil for the collaboration which has given birth to such dream to construct the bus terminal.

He was confident the facility had come at the right time to give travellers hope to use a safer means of transport to help reduce the spate of road accidents being recorded.
He said the drivers of the Intercity STC were more trained and had given all necessary skills to ensure safety on the road to get travellers safe to their destinations.

He said the new bus terminal was timely and would help increase revenue of the Intercity STC LIMITED which had been through some changes because of the closure of the boarders of some neighboring counties where it operated because of covid restrictions.
“This facility comes at the time when INTERCITY STC had to devise alternative means increase its revenue because of the closure of the boarders of some neighboring countries were our busses operated like Abidjan, Lome, Ouagadougou among others”.

He said.

Nana Akomea also revealed that, intermittent increases of fuel prices was a major challenge to the company that affected its operations and called on Goil to collaborate with stakeholders to check the pricing of fuel to make it convenient to offer even better services to the public.

Meanwhile some residents of Cape coast as well as students of some second cycle and tertiary institutions in the area have also expressed excitement about the opening of the new bus terminal which they believed will serve them and give a great a purpose of having a safe travel.
