The New Patriotic Party (NPP) will call for re-collation of election results, the Party’s Communication Director has hinted. He said there have been over 20 constituencies where results on the Blue Sheets are different from what got to the Strong Room of the Electoral Commission (EC).

Nana Akomea was speaking on TV 3’s Midday Live on Monday, December 10, 2012, a day after Chairman of the EC Dr Kwadwo Afari-Gyan declared President John Dramani Mahama as winner of the 2012 presidential elections.

Nana Akomea told presenter Narkwor Kwabla that the NPP is putting pieces of evidence together in order to file a suit against the results announced by Dr Afari-Gyan.

He stated that the Party’s absence at the results declaration ceremony was evidence of their disapproval of results.

While citing first-count presidential results from Dome-Kwabenya Constituency as a clear case of doctored results, Nana Akomea said most of the discrepancies were worse in the other regions of the country.

“If Dome-Kwabenya in the centre of the capital could have a difference of over 15,000 in the presidential results, then same can be said for other constituencies in other regions,” he noted.

He disclosed that the Party’s flagbearer, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is doing well and will be at the Party head office on Monday.

He hinted that the Party will file the suit on Tuesday, December 11, 2012.
