There is a huge contingent of military officers in the Ningo Prampram Constituency of the Greater Accra Region as voting in the National Democratic Congress’ primaries closes.

The primaries in the constituency were rescheduled from Saturday after a complaint by one of the two aspirants, Sam Nartey George, regarding the voters’ register. He complained that the register was fraught with numerous missing names.

He had also complained of being punched in the face by a supporter of incumbent Member of Parliament, Enoch Teye Mensah.

Our reporter says Sunday’s voting in the constituency was calm as security officers appear to be almost everywhere.

ET Mensah voted at the Methodist Primary School but his challenger is yet to be spotted.

Some national and regional executives of the NDC are already in the constituency monitoring proceedings.

General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia told TV3’s Nana Kweku Aduah that he was satisfied with the turn of events on Sunday after flashes of altercations characterised Saturday.

NDC’s Greater Accra Regional Chairman Cobbina Ade Coker was also spotted in the constituency.

Counting is expected to be done immediately after voting.
