Mariah Carey sued Australian billionaire James Packer for 50 million dollars as an inconvenience fee when they broke off their engagement.

The 2015 affair is back in the limelight after a notable silence about the Australian Billionaire and the settlement suit in her, The Meaning of Mariah Carey.  

According to inside sources, Mariah Carey did not need the money. The heartbreak did a number on her heart. She also said it caused her emotional turmoil and stress as she moved her family from New York to Los Angeles to be with him.

She and James Parker got engaged in 2015 and broke up the following year. Despite the short engagement, Mariah Carey demanded a 50 million payment to help ease her pain. She also kept the 10 million dollar engagement ring as compensation.

The marriage broke up in 1997 when the musician called it controlling and unhealthy. After, Mariah married singer Luis Miguel from 1998 until their divorce in 2001. She then married Nick Cannon in 2008 but split in August 2014.
