The exercise is to get the site ready for redevelopment into a state-of-the-art market to be partly financed by the Brazilian government.
A letter, signed by KMA Chief Executive Kojo Bonsu and the Director of KMA, Michael Aboagye, to transport unions at the Kumasi Kejetia Lorry Terminal stated that transport unions operating at the lorry station will start relocating from Tuesday, June 23.
The relocation has been scheduled in three phases.
Phase One, which will see the relocation of some of the drivers to the Afia Kobi Market, will begin it all.
Phase Two will see the relocation of another set of drivers to Bantama on Thursday, June 25.
The final phase, Phase Three, would be executed next Monday.
The drivers left after Phase 1 and Phase 2 will be relocated to Kumasi racecourse.
The letter also indicated that a memorandum of understanding has been signed by all the 24 transport unions at the terminal to relocate to the temporary allocated places.
