He was approved on Friday, July 30 after the Vetting and Appointments Committee of the legislature presented its report to plenary.
This follows his vetting on Thursday, July 22.
After the vetting, Chairman of the Committee Joseph Osei Owusu, who is also the First Deputy Speaker of Parliament, hinted that his members were satisfied with the answers given by the 43-year-old lawyer.
The Bekwai Member of Parliament stated emphatically that they were going to recommend his approval.
On Friday, the House reached a consensus to approve Mr Agyebeng, formerly first-named William.
He is set to become Ghana’s second Special Prosecutor after Martin Alamisi Burnes Kaiser Amidu, who resigned from the position in November.
Asked if he was capable of stepping in the shoes of the former Attorney General, the University of Ghana law lecturer of 15 years said he was a man of his own and bringing his own shoes.
He promised to make corruption costly to engage in.
“There is no way I can stop corruption. God himself will not acclaim to that.I am going to make corruption costly, a high risk activity,” he said.
He is expected to be sworn in by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
