Karpowership Ghana Company Limited has resumed operations after a successful commissioning in Takoradi in the Western Region. The power ship went off on Thursday, August 17 to be relocated from Tema in the nation’s capital. The relocation of the 470MW plant was in line with government’s strategic policy for  Natural Gas from the western enclave to be utilized. Karpowership said in a statement prior to the relocation that the move was aimed at saving the government millions of dollars annually.

On Friday, September 6, Karpowership Ghana announced that the commissioning is complete. “The 470MW power ship would continue to operate on Heavy Fuel Oil to supply reliable and sustainable electricity to the national grid until ongoing works on the gas pipeline are completed and the pipeline is fully commissioned,” said a statement issued and signed by Sandra Amarquaye, the Corporate Communications Specialist of the firm. It thanked all stakeholders “who have been involved in the success of the Project”. Source: 3news.com|Ghana]]>
