Hundreds of people believed to be sympathisers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have thronged the party’s headquarters in Accra.

The people clad in red and black have joined the leading opposition part to protest last Monday’s dawn raid of its offices.

Some uniformed men numbering six are reported to have ransacked the party’s offices in what the Acting Chairman, Freddie Blay, says was orchestrated by “some powerful people who want to create the impression that we have problems in our party.”

The gathering dubbed #RedFriday will see addresses from some big wigs of the party.

So far, Chairman of the National Council of Elders C.K. Tedam is present. So are the Chairman of the party’s Constitutional and Legal Committee, Professor Mike Ocquaye, Greater Accra Chairman Ishmael Ashitey and Ashanti Region Chairman Bernard Antwi-Boasiako.

Some of the party’s members of Parliament are also at the party’s headoffice for the special event.
