The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation has stopped television broadcast to the Volta Region following a cut in electricity supply to two of its transmission stations in the region.

The cut in electricity supply to the two transmission sites at Akatsi and Ametefe stemmed from the Corporation’s GHC720,000 indebtedness to the Electricity Company of Ghana, TV3’s Catherine Frimpongmaa reports from Parliament.

Deputy Minister of Communications, Dr. Ato Sarpong revealed this when he appeared before Parliament to answer questions on what accounted for the cut in television transmission as well as the cause of reduction in the hours of radio transmission by the national broadcaster to the region.

The questions were posed by the MP for Ho, Benjamin Komla Kpodo.

Addressing Parliament on the issue Friday on behalf of the Communication Minister, Dr. Ato Sarpong said arrangements were in place to agree on a resettlement plan with the ECG
