FDA warns public against expired Lucozade

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) is warning the public to be on the lookout for expired Lucozade products, following a detection of some expired products on the market. In a release by the FDA, some Lucozade products were intercepted by the Authority with the expiry dates tampered with and changed from September 2019 to September 2020. The FDA visited a warehouse located in Lapaz upon a tip-off from a journalist where they chanced on some persons changing the dates on the products. Two people who were caught tampering with the dates have been arrested and are in police custody assisting with investigations. It is on the back of this discovery that the FDA is warning the general public to be on the lookout for such products and ensure they pay close attention to expiry date on the products. “The FDA therefore wished to advise the general public to critically examine any canned Lucozade they wish to patronize and ensure not to purchase any having batch numbers SEP 19 L4A and SEP 19 L4B with an expiry date of Septemeber, 2020.” The Authority reiterated its commitment towards protecting consumers’ safety when it comes to products sold on the market and the risk it may pose to consumers.
