Thirty year old suspect Richard Anyomi also impersonated a Protocol Officer with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and took GH¢98,000 from his victim within the last three months.
His arrest on Tuesday, November 3 followed repeated complaint of a fake recruiting agent using the names of the military, immigration and the customs services.
Following the report, personnel of the National Security went underground over the last few weeks tracking the syndicate.
Eventually, the kingpin of the syndicate, Anyomi, showed up at the Kotoka International Airport, ostensibly to meet a supposed victim for the money and was arrested.
He told the police that he started the recruiting agency in March this year but could not remember the number of people he had duped.
The unemployed man said he recruited two persons, a teacher from Tepa in the Brong Ahafo Region and a student at the University of Professional Studies, who go round to scout for the prospective victim.
Once contacted either by phone or personally, the victims are charged between GH¢2,000 and GH¢5,000, depending on their qualification.
At least, 45 victims have so far reported to the police whom Richard has identified as victms.
The 45 victims together paid GH¢98,000 to Richard and his gang to be recruited into the military, immigration and customs.
A search on Richard Anyomi, a failed student of the then Institute of Professional Studies, found a complementary card bearing his name as a Deputy Protocol Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration.

He confessed never working with the Ministry but relied on his father’s position as a former staff driver to create the complementary card.
Richard Anyomi is being processed to appear before court on charges of impersonation and defrauding by false pretences.
The Airport District Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Yao Tetteh, appealed to all those who fell victim to Richard Anyomi in one way or the other to contact the Airport Police to assist in investigations and prosecution.
