E/R: Three die in two separate accidents on Sunday

A total of 22 persons sustained several degrees of injury while three lost their lives in two separate accidents on Sunday, November 29.

The first accident recorded by the police at 3:00am occurred on the River Supon Bridge on the Osenase-Asamankese road, involving a metro bus with registration number GG 3973-09. It was carrying 60 people.

Police say the bus while descending the hill on the Osenase-Asamankese road lost control of the steering and hit the wall of the bridge and finally landed across the bridge on both sides.

A 33-year-old woman lost her life.

The injured victims are receiving treatment at three health facilities namely Osenase Health Centre, Asamankese Government Hospital and St Dominic Hospital, Akwatia.

The second accident occurred at 6:00pm on the Annum-Apapam road involving a pillion motor bike rider and a passenger.

The unregistered Sanya motor bike on reaching a section of the Suhum Asamankese road lost control of the motor bike, and they both fell in a ditch.

The two died on the spot.

The bodies are currently at the Suhum Government Hospital mortuary for preservation, autopsy and identification.
