According to them, fifteen years investment, skills and knowledge would go waste if government fails to give heed to their request.
The workers, who made the appeal at a news conference on Friday indicated that their lives would be worse off considering that unemployment figures were already on the rise in the country.
They want government to integrate them into any of the institutions that would be operating the Single Window Scheme at the ports from September.
The workers are to lose their jobs by Monday, August 31, 2015 because of government’s decision to end its contract with the five DIC’s.

IT Company, West Blue Consulting is to offer support services to Customs division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to implement the Single Window Scheme at the ports.
Deputy Trade and Industry Minister, Murtala Mohammed, has however indicated that government would be engaged in some discussions on the workers’ proposal.
Meanwhile, a Human Rights court is set to rule on Monday, August 31, 2015 whether government can implement the single window scheme in a suit filed by a freight forwarder.
