Police in Kadjebi, Oti Region have arrested a tailor for allegedly using force to shave the private parts of a 19-year-old electrical apprentice.

The victim, Bright Abusah told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) about his extremely distressing experience.

According to him, the incident occurred on Sunday, January 21 around 8 pm when the accused tailor invited him to his workshop located at Kadjebi Cocoa Market.

Upon his arrival at the shop, the victim said the accused locked the door and proceeded with some uncomfortable questions inquiring about his personal life and if he had a girlfriend.

According to Abusah, the tailor further displayed pornographic content to him on his mobile phone and threatened him to take off his trousers and underpants.

Abusah said surprisingly the accused tailor pulled out scissors and a disposable razor blade to forcefully shave his private parts and attempted to sexually arouse him by applying ointment on his genitals but he declined.

With the slightest opportunity, Abusah fled the scene to a close farming community in Menuso when the accused left the room for some few moments.

He then reported the incident to his grandfather, Simon Tetteh Abusah who immediately accompanied the victim to the Kadjebi Police Station the following day to officially file a complaint and the accused was swiftly apprehended by the Kadjebi Police.

The accused tailor is currently in police custody assisting with investigation into the matter after which he is expected to face assault charges.

Meanwhile, Bright Abusah is receiving support from local authorities and advocacy groups as the community grapples with the shocking incident.

In an interview with the GNA, the accused said, “in life, certain things must happen to a man for him to learn some lessons.”

The community is yet to come to terms with what the accused motive was for doing what he has been accused of.
