Ambulance purchase trial: A-G discontinues case against former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health

The Attorney-General and Minister of Justice has discontinued the case against former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health, Dr Sylvester Anemana, in which he was sued with others for their roles in the purchase of ambulances.

On March 7, the Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame served notice to the court that he will discontinue the case.

Dr Anemana, the second accused in the causing of financial loss to the state in €2.3 million ambulance purchase has been battling ailing health conditions and has had to be flown out of the jurisdiction for medical treatment.

He is seeking further medical assistance in India.

After almost an hour of an in-chambers meeting with presiding Judge Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe 3news sources disclosed that the case against the former Chief Director at the Ministry of Health has been dropped.

The case will therefore proceed with the third witness giving an oral testimony.

The case has been adjourned to Tuesday, March 19 as the first accused, former Deputy Finance Minister and Minority Leader, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson has parliamentary duties this week.
