Founder and Bishop of Perez Chapel International, Archbishop Charles Agyinasare has opened up about how he accepted Jesus Christ as his saviour.

The ArchBishop in an interview on Onua Maakye, Wednesday, January 17 said prior to his repentance, he was involved in deviant behaviours like weed-smoking and womanizing.

He recalled that while living in Tamale as a teacher, he crushed on a lady who compelled him to follow her to church before she could accept his proposal.

The founder of Perez Chapel International stated that while high on marijuana  before the church service that night, he followed her ‘crush’ to a Pentecost church in Tamale.

“I was in Tamale as a pupil teacher and my antics were many, so as a teacher, a parent requested for extra hours. So, when I got to the house, I met two ladies and I liked both ladies, but I wanted to be with one of them.

“When I made my intentions known to her, she told me she had a boyfriend and I asked who the boyfriend was and she said his name was Jesus and if you allow me introduce you to my boyfriend, then I will accept to be yours,” he recounted to the host, Captain Smart.

According to the Archbishop, he was practicing Buddhism at that time “so it was all a joke” for him.

“But I accepted to go meet that boy [Jesus]. That night, high on marijuana, I went with her to church, sat at the end waiting for her.”

He said that night was a life-changing moment for him.

“I only remember the preacher made an altar call and I stepped forward, since then the power of drugs, alcohol, tobacco, lust broke from my life from that night,” he narrated.

According to Archbishop Charles AgyinAsare, two weeks later, God spoke to him through a dream to begin his ministry.

He said his dad even questioned the sudden repentance, since meeting the lady. The Archbishop believes the Grace of God worked ‘magic’ in his life.
