They are to reappear on March 24, 2016.
Following a petition by two members of the opposition party late last year, Mr. Afoko was suspended by the NPP when he failed to appear before a disciplinary committee that investigated claims that he was working against the interest of the party.
The beleaguered chairman proceeded to court, praying it to nullify the suspension as the chairman of the biggest opposition party. He argued that the action was unconstitutional and lacked basis.
When the case was called at the Human Right Division of an Accra High Court Wednesday, the court was expected to hear a similar case in which Mr. Afoko is challenging the mandate of two of the party’s Disciplinary Committee members that recommended his suspension. The two are Madam Gifty Kusi and Alhaji Short.
Hearing, however, could not proceed because both parties had failed to serve each other with certain important documents.
The court therefore adjourned the case and ordered them to serve each and return to court on March 24.
But the counsel for Paul Afoko was not enthused about the directive. He told the court that he would be pleased if the case is called earlier than the set date.
The presiding judge consented but said if the two are able to carry what the court has ordered, then either of them can come through with a motion for the case to be heard earlier.
