This follows a similar scam that rocked the Ghana Police Service in March this year for which COP Patrick Timbillah is still under house arrest for allegedly masterminding the scam.
In the latest case which was busted by the Ghana Police Service, the Accra Regional Public Relations Officer ASP Afia Tenge indicated that on December 5, the service got wind of a recruitment ring around Taifa-Burkina in Accra.
Upon arrival, some 32 people were seen undergoing physically training at the St. Dominic Catholic Church Park. It was after that exercise and some activities that the scammers would shortlist and call those who have qualified.
She said “out initial investigations pointed to one Godson Kwame Dohu, a former National Security operative, was the one coordinating the activities. He told us he was a national coordinator of an unregistered company called Afrigan Suricom.”
She indicated that he was arrested with 12 others who were allegedly involved in the recruitment scam. “They are being processed for court but let me add that investigations are still ongoing.”
An amount of GHc50 and GHc150 were collected as payment from the unsuspecting victims giving them assurances that they would be enlisted into the national security.
