Covid-19: 11 Togolese in isolation in Kumasi

Eleven Togolese nationals resident in Kumasi have tested for coronavirus but the result came out negative, 3news.com has gathered.

These West African nationals were captured by the Kumasi Metropolitan Health Committee, which has been on course in tracing contacts of patients as part of government’s effort to expand testing.

All 11 have been put in isolation, nonetheless, to ensure they do not come into contact with the public, 3news.com was informed.

Further tests will be conducted on them to confirm their negative status.

So far, Ghana has recorded 204 cases of coronavirus. Among these are West African nationals from Guinea and Burkina Faso.

The latest additional figure of nine, according to the Ghana Health Service, had one who had travelled to Benin in the last 14 days.

The enhanced testing by the Kumasi Metropolitan Health Committee is expected to get more persons residing in the Ashanti Region capital get tested.
