Leader of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Dramani Mahama is expected to file his nomination forms today, Monday, September 7 at the party’s headquarters in Adabraka, Accra.
Vice President Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur picked the forms on his boss’ behalf last Thursday, indicating that they are confident Ghanaians will renew their mandate in 2016.
President Mahama is said to have met the Functional Executive Committee of the ruling party on Sunday to formally inform them of his decision to present his filled forms as per government-party relations.
He is required to pay the filing fee of GH¢50,000.
President Mahama is scheduled to be at the party’s office at 4:00pm for the gesture ahead of the November 7 contest.
So far, a former campaign manager in the Madina Constituency, George Boateng, has picked forms – albeit said to be draft ccopies – to challenge the sitting president.
