Kwame Hyper crowned Western Region King of Rap

After 10 long weeks of busting rhymes and punching bars, the Connect FM Community Street Rap Battle has a new king.

The grand finale happened on Saturday, September 19 at Kojokrom, a suburb of Western Region capital Takoradi.

Eleven rappers, 10 male and a female representing four zones – Kwesimintsim, Effiakuma, Takoradi and Sekondi – thrilled patron to great performances.

Kwesimintsim was represented by Kwame Hyper, Effiakuma by Kwame Speechless and Kwesi Bryte, Takoradi by Fhrosty, Kofi Rapizo and Lolly and Sekondi by Mr. Crayon, Trake, Debby Sway, 5T and Kobby Brain.

After three rounds of exhilarating performances, Kwesimintsim’s sole representative Kwame Hyper was crowned King of the rap battle, which is in its third edition.

He won GH¢150,000 worth recording and promotional package from Media General.

Kobby Brain & Fhrosty both from the Takoradi Zone were the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.

They win GH¢120,000 and GH¢100,000 recording and promotional packages respectively.

5T on the night won products from sponsors Adonko Next Level Energy Drink and Verna Active Mineral Water as the best performer.

The grand finale of the Street Rap Battle Season 3 saw performances from Hiphop star Casta Troy as well 2019 king, Yaw King and runners-up, Kwaku Bany and Degraft Bars.
