June 3 disaster victims remembered

As part of efforts to remember the June 3 disaster victims at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle, some unknown persons believed to be school children, have adorned the disaster scene with a statue and pictures of the victims.

A heap of polythene products were displayed at the feet of a statue carrying a victim.

An inscription, “June 3 Save A Life” has been written boldly with the colours of the national Flag, Red, Gold and Green.

The decoration has started attracting public attention as several people were scene catching glimpse of it.

A banner showing pictures of some commercial drivers who lost their lives in last year’s disaster and also sourcing for funds to support a survivor was also on display.

The June 3 disaster claimed over 150 lives at a Goil Filling station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra. The incident happened during a downpour in the evening.

Several properties worth millions of Ghana cedis were also destroyed.
