Mother and mates of junior high school student of the Child of Hope Basic School in Tafo in the Eastern Region have expressed shock at the sudden death of Barbara Asante, who is alleged to have committed suicide Tuesday, March 7. editors.3news.com gathered the incident occurred at about 12pm. A worried Mercy Asare, mother of the deceased, revealed she had prepared food for the deceased and her two siblings after which she went into the room to rest. According to Madam Mercy, she woke up about 3:30pm same day and observed the absence of her daughter. She immediately began to search around the house but was met with an awful site of her daughter’s dangling body tied around the kitchen ceiling fan with a red bag sling. Her mother managed to cut the rope before calling in the police, who rushed the victim to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead ten minutes after arrival. Surprisingly, her books, knife and school uniform were on the table, suggesting she was studying before the suicide.
