GPL Wk14 Preview: WAFA host AshGold, Karela travel to Cape Coast to face Dwarfs

Week 14 of the Ghana Premier League kicks off with a crunch encounter between WAFA and AshGold. The Academy boys who have suffered back to back-to-back defeats on the road return to Sogakope, where they are yet to lose this season.

AshGold who are also on a five game winless streak may try to surprise the home team although they’ve won once at home. The Miners conceded a total of six goals when they last took the dreadful journey to Sogakope.

Berekum Chelsea have not had an impressive season but they are one of the few sides who have gotten the formula right at home. A test awaits them in the form of Eleven Wonders this week; who the records do not favour. The Bibires have enjoyed dominance at the Golden City park as Ignatius Osei Fosu’s team have never won there.

After suffering a shocking defeat to Kotoko in Anyinase last week, Karela United will be tested again against Dwarfs. In their last 13 away games, not a single win has been recorded on the part of Karela. Something they will want to do away with when they get to Cape Coast.

In form Dreams will do all they can to maintain their 2021 unbeaten record when they play Aduana.

Malnourished of points, Inter Allies who at the bottom of the GPL table will fancy their chances against Liberty.

Medeama SC vs Bechem United game is expected to be a blockbuster. The Mauve and Yellow will be going into the game with some sort of confidence since they have not lost to the Hunters in the GPL before.

A Monday evening encounter between Legon Cities and King Faisal may give football fans all the entertainment they need. The Insha Allah boys may pull a surprise although they have not won an away game this season.

Olympics and Elmina Sharks will end Matchweek 14 proceedings on Tuesday afternoon. The Dade boys will be concentrating fully on this game as they hope to bounce back from defeat.

Kotoko and Hearts would have rekindled their rivalry but the Porcupine Warriors have an equally important national assignment to finish. They play Algerian side ES Setif in the Caf Confederation Cup.

All GPL games will be played behind closed doors.
