In a night filled with anticipation and the theme ‘Justify Your Inclusion’, the seven remaining contestants fought for a coveted spot in the grand finale of Ghana’s Most Beautiful. Sadly, the journey came to an end for the representatives of the Savanna and Western regions, Titiaka and Serwaa, as they missed the train to the final showdown.

Nevertheless, they left a lasting mark by showcasing raw talent through their re-enactment of festivals deeply rooted in their regions. Titiaka, representing the Savanna Region, presented a mesmerizing performance of the Gbandawu festival and completed it with the captivating alobi dance. The Gbandawu festival holds great significance in Gonja culture, particularly as it signifies the new yam festival, a paramount event in the Gonja Kingdom.

Serwaa, the Western Region’s representative, used the platform given her to re-enact the epic tale of the legendary warrior, Baidoo Bonsu, who valiantly resisted foreign oppressors, especially the Dutch colonialists, in the Ahanta land of the Western Region. Her portrayal of this fearless warrior was a tribute to the region’s rich history.

Despite their exceptional performances, the final scores didn’t favor Titiaka and Serwaa. Viewers held a 60% stake in the determination phase, with the remaining 40% held by the judges. The eviction scene was filled with suspense, leaving everyone on edge about who would leave the competition.

Supporters of Titiaka and Serwaa were undoubtedly disheartened as their favorites no longer have the chance to claim the title of the next GMB Queen. However, it wasn’t all in vain. The departing contestants received a heartfelt send-off sponsored by Heaven Insecticide Spray & Coil and Ena Pa Foods – 5,000 worth of exercise books to continue making a positive impact.

As the grand finale approaches on October 8 at the National Theater, the competition grows fiercer, with Selorm (Volta region), Nurah (Northern region), Kwartemaa (Bono region), Naa Ayeley (Greater Accra region), and Aduanige (Upper East region) competing for a cash prize, bragging rights as the 2023 GMB Queen and other exciting rewards.
