Fire ravages 5-bedroom house in Kumasi

The fire has caused cracks in portions of the building
Fire has swept through a five bedroom house at Odeneho Kwadaso in Kumasi, destroying the entire building Sunday morning. No casualties were recorded but the occupants have been displaced. The timely intervention of fire personnel prevented the fire from extending to other houses around. The fire, which started around 7:00am, destroyed property estimated worth thousands of cedis. It took fire fighters several hours to douse the fire but could not savage personal belongings and household appliances in the building. Though the cause of the fire is not immediately known, residents are pointing to a faulty refrigerator which caught fire in the kitchen and spread to other rooms within the apartment. Parts of the building have developed serious cracks as a result of the fire. The Ghana National Fire Service has started investigations to establish what caused the fire outbreak.
