A final year student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Samuel Aboagye, who shot to fame early in the year after he was dramatically jilted by his girlfriend Nana Ama has taken a bold step to search for love on TV3’s Date Rush.

Sammy, as he famously came to be called, became an internet sensation after videos of him crying uncontrollably on phone in what appeared to be like he was pleading for a second chance from a lover. It later emerged that, Sammy’s girlfriend, Nana Ama had called it over under circumstances Sammy could not immediately come to terms with.

In the said video, Sammy was heard pleading for clemency in words that would later become jargons.

“The past is not the present”, he was heard saying, while asking for another chance.

It thus appear that Sammy has moved on and is up for another relationship or so it seems as he has expressed confidence in finding a new love when he showed up at TV3’s premises on Wednesday, October 28 for an audition.

Asked if he thinks he is strong enough to handle rejection again, Sammy said “I am actually prepared for anything that comes way.  You know after my issue of what happened, I’m using that  experience as a  means to toughen myself so that  I don’t get  to suffer and will be able to move forward”, he said

He is optimistic that he will go through the auditions and “continue to show up until he gets picked”.
