Retired security chiefs join Mahama’s campaign

In a twist of events, a host of high-ranking former police officers have joined the campaign of the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama.

The NDC flagbearer has been touring the country with his ‘Building the Ghana we want’ campaign for a while now in his bid to wrest power from the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).

The former retired security chiefs who have been on the building Ghana tour are; retired Commissioner of Police (COP) Nathan Kofi Boakye, former CID boss, and COP Rtd Bright Oduro, Former IGP Mohammed Alhassan.

It is unclear what the motivation of the former security chiefs is, but details are emerging that they believe John Mahama has the solution to take the country out of the current economic quagmire.

Kofi Boakye’s close relationship with John Mahama is no secret. Many are speculating that he has interest in becoming a running mate.

Sources within the former security chiefs tell Komla Klutse, there are a lot more former retired service chiefs who have approached John Mahama to assist him in his bid to become president for the final term.
