The People’s National Convention (PNC) will on Wednesday, July 27 begin activities to mark 30 years of the establishment of the political party.

The anniversary will be by way of sensitization and mobilization activities through promotional materials, image building
activities, interviews and programs, publicity and exhibitions.

It will be climaxed with a symposium in Tamale on Friday, August 5.

“Distinguished speakers shall address the gathering on the theme ‘Celebrating 30 years; Heal, Inspire and Revive the Nkrumah, Liman Egala, and Mahama Tradition’,” a statement issued by General Secretary Janet Asana Nabla on Tuesday said.

The PNC was founded on July 27, 1992 by the late Dr Hilla Limann ahead of the return to democracy. His government, then, was the last to have been toppled by the military before the current Republic.

The PNC has since struggled to return to power but remains one of the formidable opposition forces.

“The People’s National Convention (PNC) will be 30 years come this Wednesday the 27th July, 2022 of contributing to Ghana’s democracy by way of providing viable policy alternatives, constructively criticize government policies and actively participate in all general elections in this 4th Republic,” the statement said.

“It is therefore worthy to celebrate the party and to assure fellow Ghanaians that the party remains committed to their cause.”

It called on all members, sympathisers, and the general public to make the anniversary celebration a success.
