Jamestown Robbery: Police pledge to arrest perpetrators

    The Inspector General of Police (IGP) has assured family of the officer killed in Monday’s robbery incident at Adedenkpo near Jamestown in Accra of arresting the perpetrators.

    Lance Corporal Emmanuel Osei, who was on escort duties of a bullion van belonging to MON-TRAN, was shot dead by the armed robbers on motorbikes and his AK 47 rifle taken away.

    IGP James Oppong-Boanuh and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) were at the residence of the deceased officer on Tuesday, June 15 to commiserate with his family.

    Lance Corporal Osei was with the National SWAT Unit.

    The police introduced an appointed liaison officer for the family as regards arrangement for the burial of the deceased. A psychologist was also assigned to the family.

    Meanwhile, police have put a GH¢20,000 bounty on the heads of the armed robbers.
