The Accra High Court case involving the Ranking Member of the Finance Committee of Parliament, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, has been adjourned to Tuesday, January 18.
According to Media General‘s Laud Adu-Asare, presiding judge Justice Afia Serwaa Asare-Botwe had to adjourn the case because one of the three accused reported sick.
Lawyer for Sylvester Anemana, who was a Chief Director at the Ministry of Health when the said deal was sealed, informed the Court that his client had a medical condition which required that he visited the hospital on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Justice Asare-Botwe, therefore, adjourned the case, citing an obligation for all accused persons to be present in court.
The two other accused – Dr Forson and businessman Richard Jakpa – were present in court.
They are standing trial for allegedly causing financial loss of €2.37 million to the state in a deal to purchase some 200 ambulances for the country between 2014 and 2016.
