'Exhibit professionalism or quit' – E/R Commander tells officers

The new Eastern Regional Police Commander, DCOP Angwubotoge Awuni, has issued a strong warning to Police personnel in the region to be professional in their work, and asked those who cannot to quit.

“You either be more professional or exit.Your duty is to advice on the right things to be done. Shed off the bad behaviours,” he told a meeting of divisional commanders and personnel Monday.

The former MTTD Commander said he needs the personnel to act with absolute professionalism and commitment to duty to enable him achieve results in the region, warning that those who act contrary or abuse the law will not go scot free.

DCOP Awuni said it is the duty of personnel to enforce their powers in accordance with the laws of the country, and urged personnel to support his efforts, saying “you need to support me succeed. I need your cooperation to achieve an incident free Christmas and low crime rate.  

He said he intends to keep more men in the city to protect citizens, whiles urging them to create constructive relationship to get information to fight crime. “Our policemen cannot be at all crime scene,” he added

Whiles advised motorist to take precautionary measures against armed robbery incident on the road.

Deputy Regional Commander, James Abass Abaah noted the year has been busy for the personnel in the region with regards to law enforcement.
