2008 Presidential Candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Dr. Edward Mahama has expressed his dissatisfaction with happenings within the party.

Dr. Mahama called for the excommunication of any party member, who openly declares support for any other political party.

He made this pronouncement in a press interaction Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Accra.

He told journalists that he was saddened by what is happening within PNC given the “successful and beautiful” Delegates’ Conference in Sunyani earlier in the year.

“I have hoped that the successful and beautiful Delegates’ Conference in Sunyani would give peace and tranquility to PNC so that it could focus on its business of selling its message to the people of Ghana in this election year,” he said.

“What is happening in the PNC saddens me greatly and saddens old party members who genuinely want to see PNC take its rightful place in Ghana politics.”

Declaring his allegiance to PNC, Dr Mahama noted that he has faithfully served the party for the past sixteen years.

He asked party members to only declare their support for other parties when “the time is right for them to do so.”

He called on members to remain steadfast behind the PNC.

“I therefore call on all members of the PNC not to allow any person or institution to create disunity amongst them.”
