Deadline for SHS placement extended

File
The Ministry of Education has yet again extended the deadline for placement of junior high school (JHS) graduates into senior high schools (SHSs). The latest deadline is midnight of Friday, September 8. There have been complaints from parents regarding access to Computerized School Selection Placement System (CSPSS) portal. Authorities have blamed the situation on the government’s rollout of its flagship Free SHS policy, which most parents want their kids to benefit from. This led to the creation of a second website, cssps.gov.gh, aside the original myjhsresult.net. “The Ministry assures parents and guardians that no child who qualified to be placed in a public senior high school will be left behind,” a statement signed by Deputy Education Minister Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum said. Though the majority of JHS graduates have been placed, schools have not yet begun admitting students as they claim they are yet to receive the full lists from the CSSPS Secretariat.
