Speaking on TV3’s News @10 after the party’s congress in Sunyani, Nii Akomfrah divulged that the immediate past chair of the party, Samia Yaba Nkrumah, is among members who have expressed interest to lead the party in 2016.

If the merger talks of the Nkrumahists are successful, CPP’s presidential hopefuls will battle with others from the other Nkrumahist parties at a congress.
Already, the 2012 Presidential Candidate of the PNC, Hassan Ayariga, has announced his intention to contest again just like Dr Edward Mahama, a four-time candidate.
