Black Queens urged to show class in their approach to 2018 AWCON

The Executive Women Network, the pre-eminent non-profit organisation for professional women and entrepreneurs, has called on Ghanaians to support the Black Queens African Women’s Cup of Nations (AWCON) which begins today in Accra The Black Queens, paired with Algeria, Cameroon and Mali in Group A, will open the tournament Saturday afternoon with Algeria at the Accra Sports Stadium. “The Executive Women Network extends its best wishes to the gallant Black Queens and the technical team as they commence operation host and win on Saturday 17th November,” a statement from the network said. It urged the team to “show pride and class in your approach and to display character and deep belief in your ability to win”. It said the Network and the entire country is solidly behind the team and expressed the hope that the team will “cut out for greatness” and make the nation proud. “The Network also wants to encourage the entire country to rally behind the Black Queens as they pitch their wits against the best teams across the continent. We believe that this new generation of young female players need our collective support to host and win this year’s tournament,” the statement said. It added: “We encourage all to show up at the match venues as a demonstration of our collective support in the same way we have done for other national teams”. This is the first time Ghana is hosting the Women’s AFCON, which ironically the Black Queens, being one of the giants of women football in Africa is yet to win. By editors.3news.com|Ghana
