IGP David Asante Apeatu
The Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, has rung the changes again within some regional and district commands of the Ghana Police Service. Major among the recent changes are the transfers of the Ashanti and Northern Regional commanders to the national headquarters. Commissioner of Police (COP) Isaac Ken Yeboah, who was in charge of the Ashanti Regional Command, has been transferred to the national headquarters as the Director General in charge Technical Services. DCOP Patrick Adusei Sarpong, who was at the helm in the Northern Regional Command, is heading to the national headquarters as Director General of Legal Affairs. The Western Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwasi Mensah Duku, has been transferred to the Ashanti Region to replace COP Ken Yeboah. His place will be occupied by DCOP Vincent Redeemer Dedjoe, the Upper East Regional Commander. The Director of Police Intelligence and Professional Standards (PIPS), Timothy Yoosa Bonga, will head the Northern Regional Police Command. The second in charge in the Brong Ahafo Region, Emmanuel Ashong Bossoh Jnr, will now head PIPS. His place will, in turn, be occupied by DCOP Edward Oduro Kwarteng, who was the second in charge in the Upper West Region. DCOP Osei Kwaku Ampofo-Duku will move from the national headquarters to the Upper East Regional Command. Director General of Legal Services Edward Tabiri will now be Director General for Private Security Operations. “Additional changes have been made to various District Commands such as the Atebubu District, Kasoa District, Assin Fosu District, Airport District, Anyinam District, Kibi District and Nsawam District,” a news release on Monday said.
