Andre Ayew surprise move to Al Sadd means he will be managed by one of football’s greats Xavi Hernandez.
Xavi is the head coach of the Qatari side who have acquired the services of the Ghana captain in a reported bumper deal.
The Barcelona legend has been managing Al Sadd since he retired in 2019 and extended his contract to 2023 in May, at the time he was heavily linked with a return to Spanish giants.
Xavi can now count on Ayew’s experience in his bid to dominate Asian football.

The 31-year-old is expected in Doha on Thursday to complete the routine procedures, followed by the signing of the contract and the official announcement
It is rumoured that Ayew will be paid $220,000 per month, without tax, as per the deal.
Ayew parted ways with Swansea amicably in June after the club’s failure to secure Premier League promotion.
The forward did his very best in the club’s promotion chase as he contributed 17 goals and four assists in the Championship.
