Akufo-Addo’s brother sues media house for defamation

Brother of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Edward Akufo-Addo, has filed a law suit against Class Media Group, operators of Accra 100.5 FM and three other persons.

He seeking GHC10,000,000 damages for defamation contained in the publication by defendants on 29/05/2021.

The other defendants are Kwabena Bobie Ansah, presenter at Accra 100.5, Mensah Thompson, the executive director of Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA) and Listowell Nana Kusi-Poku, executive secretary of Good Governance Advocacy Ghana (defendants).

The statement of claim said the 3rd defendant, who allegedly made the allegation, “touts himself as the Executive Director of a group called the Alliance for Social Equity and Public Accountability (ASEPA), whereas the fourth defendant also touts himself as the Executive Director of a group called the Good Governance and Advocacy Group Ghana.”

“Plaintiff avers that in the course of the program, the 3rd and 4th Defendants, aided and encouraged by 2nd Defendant, published of and concerning false and malicious statements about Plaintiffs alleged use of the Ghana Presidential Jet, also known as ‘theFalcon’,”
